Join fellow alumni and friends, Athletic Director Tom Bowen, and members of the Athletics staff for a pre-game reception in Irvine on Friday, December 18 prior to the San Jose State Men’s Basketball game.

This will be a great evening to meet and reminisce with fellow alumni and visit with Athletic Director Tom Bowen.  Tom will share the exciting developments in the realm of intercollegiate athletics, as well as other campus updates.  During the reception, Spartan fans are invited to enjoy appetizers and cocktails.

The Pre-game Reception will begin at 5:00PM at the Steelhead Brewery Company, followed by a first-hand look at what to expect in the 2009 Men’s Basketball season as the Spartans take on the University of California Irvine.  Tip-off is at 7:00PM in the Bren Events Center on the UCI campus.

The Spartans have four returning starters each of whom has averaged in double-figure scoring during their San Jose State careers.  There’s a quality bench led by senior Robert Owens, one of the WAC’s top returning three-point shooting threats, along with wing man Mac Peterson.  A core of talented newcomers will be ready at all positions whether it be the shot blocking prowess of JC transfer , Moses Omolade, the toughness and athleticism of wing players Anthony Dixon and Chris Jones, or the versatility of guard Aalim Moor.  Freshman Joe Henson and transfer Kyle Thomas will add some bulk and skill to the post position, too, for the Spartans.

To reserve your spot, contact Maryann Fox at 408-924-3300 or maryann.fox@sjsu.edu.
